Breaking Dawn may not be filmed in Vancouver?

Rumours have been flying as to if Breaking Dawn will be filmed and where Breaking Dawn will be filmed... I have even recieved an email from a crazy lady who said that Breaking Dawn would not be coming back because of *ME* ha ha - yes - ME... I am personally responsible if Breaking Dawn goes elsewhere... ha ha oh the insanity of some people... moving on...

The rumours are still rumours but it has been said that the 4th Twilight Book may not be filmed here. Although I find it silly to re-find sets and re-build sets, they did it from Twilight to New Moon so they could very well do it again.... I hope it's just an idle threat to kick BC Film Power-that-be into gear... While other areas offer better tax incentives, BC is falling short in this department...

Lainey Reports:

The first movie was shot in Oregon. Oregon desperately wants Twilight to return for the 4th film and they’ve introduced major tax incentives etc to lure the production back. British Columbia on the other hand is getting pounded by Ontario and Quebec (other Canadian provinces with historically active film industries) as both have also pushed tax incentives forward in a bid to take back British Columbia’s business.

British Columbia however has not answered, has not presented incentives of its own to match the competition. As such, British Columbia has already lost out on several productions and now faces the probability of losing Twilight’s final installment.

The crews that are working on Eclipse also worked on New Moon. They were booked back to back well in advance, schedules held for both films. My sources tell me exclusively that the crew was informed weeks ago that they had the all clear to book new jobs when Eclipse wraps. The studio will NOT hold them for Breaking Dawn. I’m told that as of press time the intention is to begin production on the fourth and final in September. In Portland.

Things are fluid, of course. And it could change. But unless British Columbia changes its film tax structure, it’s more financially feasible for Summit to shoot elsewhere. Say goodbye Vancouver

This is not entirely surprising, as many tv shows that film in Vancouver have been rumoured to be leaving unless BC bucks up.... shows moving to Toronto and other areas to get the tax benefits offered. It is my hope that BC steps up or risk losing not just Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn but many other great things filmed here.

Well... glad to hear it isn't *MY* fault ;)

Here's to hoping BC Filming Power-that-be get their crap together so we don't lose the many great movies and shows filmed here

Twilight can't leave BC...
All the Vancouverites have to do something to keep Twilight here...

If anything, you are a role model for other set fans. You're careful not to post too soon and encourage the twilight fans to play nice :) Disregard the crazy lady email. I've so enjoyed reading your blogs and filming updates so I hope they choose to continue filming the 4th in BC.

So what are the chances of them coming to NB to film? lol Nothing really ever gets filmed here, but everywhere I look really does look like a beautiful scene out of a movie. But..alas... we are NB.

actually, the staff have been told to book jobs after eclipse, until they come back and work on the 2 parts of breaking dawn in spring next year :)
